Welcome to Scoops Color Lab, where artistry and experimentation collide to create one-of-a-kind, ice-dyed textiles. I’m Jessica McIlhon (Mac-ILL-hon), artist and creator. SCL is a love letter to the beauty and excitement we saw and felt in everything around us as children. When we were the most ourselves. SCL invites you to find your inner excitement. What inspires you?

Ice dyeing is a captivating process that originated within the tie-dye community as an innovative way to create organic, unpredictable patterns on fabric. By sprinkling powdered dye over a layer of ice, the melting process transforms the fabric into a canvas of vivid, ethereal designs. As the ice melts, the water carries the dye in random paths, blending colors in unique ways that no other technique can replicate. Every piece created through ice dyeing is truly unique, impossible to recreate, and full of surprises.

Scoops Color Lab was born from my own journey of healing and self-discovery after facing life-changing experiences. Art became my way to reconnect with myself, and I found a deep sense of purpose in creating. SCL stands apart through a deep commitment to vibrant experimentation and emotional storytelling. While many offer ice-dyed goods, SCL leans into the unpredictability of the medium *embracing the chaos* to create one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect both healing and transformation. Each design is the result of continuous exploration, blending traditional dye techniques with intuitive, ever-evolving methods. The result is wearable art that captures the beauty of unpredictability and the power of reinvention.
